Responsibilities
We are looking for a highly motivated technician to work in an NIH funded Biomedical laboratory. The Lab Technician is expected to maintain instruments in the wet-lab (HPLC, SEC, fluorescence plate readers, lyophilized, autoclave, spectrophotometer) and chemical and bio-safety hoods, maintain cell lines and cell culture, maintain and update chemical inventory (records and files), protein production (biological expression and purification), carrying out common biochemical assays and biophysical measurements, and assisting new students and researchers in the lab. The technician will clean and prepare laboratory (work areas, glassware and equipment) and assist in waste disposal tasks.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a BS degree in biochemistry or biological sciences, wet-lab experience, experience working with analytical/biophysical instruments, knowledge on protein biochemistry and cell biology, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
