Job DescriptionThe Columbus Technology Center in Dublin, Ohio is seeking a
Materials, Corrosion, or Mechanical Engineer to perform various types of specialized corrosion and mechanical testing to assess material behavior in hydrogen, CO2, hydrogen sulfide, and various other environments. The research and testing performed in Columbus is supporting operations and infrastructure to meet the current energy demand, while accelerating decarbonization strategies that include transportation and storage of hydrogen and CO2. This position is based in Dublin, OH and requires an onsite presence to perform the responsibilities of the position.
What You'll Do: - Setup and run laboratory experiments, including the ability to:
- Handle pressurized equipment/gas and chemicals/test solutions (some environments will be hazardous, such as H2 and H2S - thorough safety training will be provided)
- Collect data
- Analyze test specimens using photography, microscopy, balances, calipers
- Design/procure test materials and coordinate machining jobs
- Perform tasks on projects relating to materials selection and corrosion testing and analysis. This includes experimental setup, data collection, and reporting.
- Interact with customers, develop testing plans/proposals, present test results, and develop new customers.
- Provide project update to customers and write reports for completed projects.
- Work in one or more areas of technical expertise to develop the capability of working independently as a Project Manager.
- Present research through technical journals and/or conference symposia.
- Follow the Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality Assurance program on projects.

QualificationsWhat is Required: - Bachelor of Engineering degree or higher in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Corrosion, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills and a proactive mindset with the capacity to effectively operate in a fast-paced environment alongside diverse individuals, including clients and colleagues.
- Willingness and ability to travel, up to 5% of the time
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to regularly lift 25lbs and wear a respirator
- We conduct pre-employment background and drug screening, as well as random drug screening to meet Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements
What is Preferred: - Experience with running fatigue crack growth and fracture toughness tests or electrochemical corrosion tests
- Experience with finite element modeling software
- Experience with proposal generation or equivalent technical writing
- Experience in project management, with understanding of technical interfaces and project finance management
- Laboratory testing experience is strongly desired
