Role description:Arcadis is seeking a Senior Consultant, Sustainability Advisory to join our U.S.-based Sustainability Advisory business.
As Senior Consultant, Sustainability Advisory, you will be a key contributor to our Sustainability Advisory team in the U.S., serving as project lead and on project delivery for one (or several) of Arcadis' sustainability capabilities (Sustainability Strategy and Program Design, Sustainability Measurement, Sustainability Goal Setting and Achievement Plans, Sustainability Reporting, Net Zero Strategy, Circularity, Nature and Biodiversity etc.) across a range of industries.
This hybrid / remote role can be located in any US Arcadis office with preference for Denver, Nashville, New York City, New Jersey, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston or Washington DC.
Arcadis is focused on solving our clients most complex sustainability challenges. As such, you will help build the strategy around, innovate approaches for, and grow the Sustainability Advisory services in North America, reporting to Senior Manager, Sustainability Advisory. This role will work horizontally across our Global Business Areas, Mobility, Places, Resilience and Intelligence, draw upon their capabilities as needed to support the advisory team and drive demand for the "pull-through" of Arcadis' other technical services. The ideal candidate for this role will be a highly organized self-starter with a background in sustainability, strong technical and consulting skills, and proven experience and ability to collaborate across internal functions, cultures, and geographies.
Role accountabilities:As Senior Consultant, Sustainability Advisory, you will be responsible for the delivery of sustainability related projects ensuring client satisfaction, effective project management, collaboration between Arcadis colleagues and client business representatives. The ideal candidate needs to demonstrate strong consulting, project and task management and communication skills.
The role requires experience delivering corporate sustainability consulting projects with measurable results. The candidate should demonstrate experience leading project teams, delivery of analysis and client communications, and the development of high-quality deliverables and best practices. The candidate should demonstrate experience supporting clients in at least one of these areas of: decarbonization strategy and implementation plans; energy and GHG emission calculations and modeling; sustainability reporting and stakeholder engagement, ESG data management and reporting in line with frameworks such as GHG protocol, Science Based Targets Initiative, CDP, CSRD, EU Taxonomy, ISSB, GRI.
- Producing ESG disclosures and other communications aligned with leading frameworks (e.g., CSRD, GRI, GRESB, ISSB / SASB, TCFD, CDP, DJSI, EcoVadis, PRI)
- Designing sustainability strategies, targets and achievement plans, and measurement and reporting of metrics such as for energy, GHG, water, and waste.
- Planning and carrying out assigned project work to deliver defined project outcomes, manage meetings, engage client stakeholders and deliver project objectives.
- Providing quality assurance and coaching emerging professionals to improve analytical and delivery skills.
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationship and identify sell-on opportunities to generate additional services and enhance client satisfaction, and contributing to proposal development activities
- Tracking schedules, deliverables, budget and staffing on multiple projects
Qualifications & Experience:Required
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field of study such as environmental science, sustainability, engineering or business with sustainability background or related field
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience including 3 years of experience in consulting working on climate risk assessment and reporting, or adjacent sustainability capabilities
- Strong consulting, client relationship and project management skills and the ability to lead tasks and project teams to successful delivery
- Advanced proficiency with desktop applications (e.g. MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and preferred experience in Tableau, Power BI, Python, R or other digital solutions
Preferred
- Additional certifications in relevant sustainability disciplines
- Experience working in a fast-paced consulting environment

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $82400 - $142140. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
