Position Purpose We are seeking a motivated and experienced Sourcing Specialist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will manage the sourcing of logistics services across various transportation modes, including air freight, sea freight, rail, and project cargo. The role requires strong negotiation skills, vendor management, and the ability to source competitive rates to ensure cost-effective and efficient logistics solutions. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities Sourcing Identify, evaluate, and onboard potential suppliers for logistics services, including air, sea, rail, warehouse, and project cargo. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a diverse, reliable vendor base. Negotiation Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers, focusing on cost savings and optimizing service quality. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align supplier contracts with business needs and objectives. Lead continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance service levels and reduce costs. Payment Terms Establish payment terms with suppliers to align with the company’s financial goals. Oversee and monitor the payment process to ensure compliance with agreed terms. Vendor Qualification & Onboarding Manage the onboarding process for new suppliers, ensuring necessary documentation and training are completed. Rate Management Obtain, analyze, and maintain competitive rates for various logistics services. Regularly update and review pricing structures to ensure the best value for the company. Project Cargo Experience Use expertise in project cargo to develop tailored logistics solutions for special projects. Work with project teams to ensure the successful execution of complex logistics projects. Skills & Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (4-6 years of relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree). Experience: Proven experience as a Sourcing Specialist or in a similar role within the logistics or freight forwarding industry. Negotiation: Strong track record of negotiating favorable pricing and contracts, achieving significant cost savings. Transportation & Logistics Knowledge: Familiarity with all modes of transportation (air, sea, rail) and logistics services, including warehousing and project cargo. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with both internal teams and external stakeholders. Project Management: Experience in project management within the logistics industry is an advantage. Network of Interaction External: Service providers, vendors, and clients within the global logistics and commodity sectors (e.g., transporters, freight forwarders, brokers, port operators). Internal: Collaboration with Commercial, Compliance, HSEC, and Finance teams.
