This expanding company, with an established presence of over 1500 employees globally, is growing its operations in the United States and is looking for a dedicated HR professional to support this exciting journey. About the Role: As an HR Generalist, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing HR strategies and processes to support our client's growth in the Houston area. You will be responsible for a wide range of HR functions, including payroll management, employee engagement, and compliance with the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) apprenticeship requirements. This position offers the unique opportunity to shape and influence the HR practices of a start-up environment backed by a globally recognized company. Key Responsibilities: Payroll Management: Oversee payroll processing and time sheet management. Ensure compliance with certified payroll and prevailing wage requirements for IRA projects. Handle tax implications for multi-state operations. Employee Engagement and Relations: Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns. Engage with employees in both office and field settings to foster a positive work environment. Compliance and Administration: Manage workers' compensation and per diem issues. Administer health insurance and benefits programs. Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies. Recruitment and Onboarding: Assist with the recruitment process, including job postings, interviews, and onboarding new hires. Support apprenticeship program initiatives in line with IRA requirements. Desired Experience: Construction Industry Expertise: Proven experience in HR roles within the construction industry. Familiarity with renewable energy projects is highly advantageous. Certified Payroll and Compliance: Experience with certified payroll processes and prevailing wage sign-off. Knowledge of IRA requirements and apprenticeship programs. HR Generalist Skills: Hands-on experience with payroll, employee relations, and HR administration. Ability to adapt to the diverse nature of work in a start-up environment. Additional Information: Schedule: Full-time, in-office role based on the west side of Houston. Flexible start times between 7am – 8:30am, with an 8-hour workday and lunch break options. Benefits: Competitive salary up to $105,000. 401k match up to 5%.
