Job Description Summary Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties. This is a Monday through Friday, 8-hour, day shift position. Must be able to work overtime on occasion, including weekends. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Adheres to all required safety and PPE protocols when performing essential and non-essential duties. Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following blueprints. Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners. Removes small quantities of metal with grinders, hand files or scrapers to produce close fit between parts. Operates drill presses, punch presses, or riveting machines to assist in assembly operation. Disassembles draft gears, slack adjusters, handbrakes for salvage of parts to be reconditioned and reassembled to complete a working reconditioned product. Paints products with air-assisted paint guns. Ensures areas are maintained according to 5S principles. Performs all duties of Material Handler or Laborer. Includes assembly or disassembly of wood or cardboard packaging using staple guns, nail guns or other hand/power tools. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
