Our light industrial facility in Columbus is hiring for a Engineering Manager.
Manage, direct and oversee all project management aspects of manufacturing, injection molding and CAP EX projects. This includes managing facility capital budgets, manufacturing project management and directing activities related to outside Contractors working onsite. This role will be responsible for managing a team of engineering and tooling employees and is expected that time is spent on the production floor.
Responsibilities- Responsible for all CAPEX projects, tracks expenditures to ensure project is within budget.
- Management and leadership of all engineering projects.
- Management and oversite of all engineering drawings and documents.
- Management and oversite of the engineering change notice system.
- Management and oversite of all internal and external engineering deviations.
- Management and oversite of the APQP product launch process.
- Management and oversite of product bills of material and manufacture.
- Management of injection molding tooling projects including quoting, purchasing, startup, sampling, and revision of injection molding tooling.
- Researches and makes recommendations for capital investment projects to reduce cost and improve part quality, manufacturability, and safety.
- Working with customers and vendors to solve design and manufacturing problems.
- Supports production department by assisting with troubleshooting manufacturing problems.
- Management, leadership, and development of engineering team members.
- Attend all Management meetings and training sessions, safety committee meetings, and all employee meetings as required by upper management.
- Manage facility installation projects of new or improvements to equipment, quality, and process improvements, cost reductions and increased capacity, utilizing lean manufacturing concepts and tools pertaining to facility and operations.
- Interface with outside service providers and contractors to secure bids for goods and services as they pertain to the facilities operation.
- Oversees the contractors who are responsible for the expansion program and ensures that job is completed on time and within budget.
- Follow all ISO 9000 requirements including creating and maintaining ISO documents.
- Follow health and safety practices within the facility.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Plant Manager.
- Other responsibilities as assigned to meet the needs of the business.
QualificationsEducation, Experience, Certifications
- Five to ten years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a minimum of seven years in a managerial role.
- Bachelors degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) preferred.
- Experience leading engineering projects across multiple departments.
- Solid background in maintenance engineering with experience in process/injection molding manufacturing equipment.

- Strong leadership and project management abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
- Familiarity with project engineering tools, controls, and software to monitor and report engineering scope, schedule and cost status during both the project & operating phases
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills both oral/written
- Highly motivated individual with good presentation skills.
- Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Must possess knowledge in electrical distribution, compressed air systems industrial controls, injection molding process, factory automation and all types of material handling equipment.
- Understanding of mold flow analysis
- Computer skills, Microsoft windows, office, AutoCAD, other engineering related project software and power point.
- Ability to work independently, supervisory, problem solving and decision-making ability. Able to think outside the box.
- Strong analytical skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Physical demands include, standing, walking and lifting on occasion. Able to work extended shifts and/or weekends as required. Able to function well in a dynamic, sometimes stressful environment.
ENVIRONMENT
- Industrial environment, both inside and outside the plant. The employee will be exposed to lead, fumes, noise, dirt, hazards, chemicals, heat and cold. This is a full-time position, and working at the plant is required.

- Travel occasionally to other company sites, seminars and workshops; other area plants
