Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Environmental Engineer to be based in Chicago, Illinois.
This position is expected to begin in May 2025.
The Entry-Level Environmental Engineer will work with a diverse team of engineers, project managers and technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering remediation consulting services.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Project Field and Office Support for Site Assessment and Remediation Projects.
- Conducting environmental field work, including soil logging, groundwater sampling, fluid level gauging and oversight of field subcontractors, drilling, well installation, development operations and utility clearance for intrusive operations.
- Work on interesting, fast-paced projects with the opportunity to learn and expand skills.
- Supporting office tasks, including data analysis and report preparation.
- Collects and enters data and applies technical principles and theories.
- Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
- Builds analytic and design skills.
- Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer or project manager.
- Frequently lifting, carrying, and loading equipment such as sample coolers, without assistance up to 50lbs.
QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.
- Valid US Driver's License is required for this position. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:- Previous experience operating a full-size pickup truck or large sport utility vehicle.
- Prior client/customer relations experience. Position includes interfacing with client and Company management.
- Ability to learn through on-the-job experience.
- Mechanical aptitude is strongly desired.
- Relevant professional work or internship experience.
- OSHA 40 Hour Hazwoper.
- Database, GIS, CAD, visualization software skills are desirable.
- Passing Engineering-in-Training (FE) test is strongly recommended.
- Ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in standard office suite software applications.
- Strong research and report writing.
