Overview TRC has an immediate need for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer and Team Leader to lead our Civil/Geotechnical Engineering practice in Santa Clara, CA. The position requires a strong technical, financial, business development and management background, and a solid reputation of building and maintaining key client relationships. This full-time position reports to the Vice President of Geo-Environmental Engineering. TRC's Santa Clara office has a vibrant, dynamic, and fast-paced work environment that thrives on teamwork and provides access to a broad spectrum of professional experiences. The services are delivered for local geographic clients, as well as clients across the United States. Responsibilities Lead project teams and staff, responsible for ongoing growth, leadership, and operation of TRC's business through client outreach and direction on major project pursuits and marketing efforts in geotechnical engineering, construction services, solid waste management, remediation, and renewable energy development markets. Maintain quality and profitability on TRC's projects, assisting with managing and developing the skill sets of Project Managers and other employees to ensure projects are executed with efficiency and technical excellence. Manage team resources and hire and develop new and existing talent. Possess strong verbal, written, presentation, and client management skills; demonstrated ability leading and managing complex projects; goal-oriented, quality-focused, with a proven track record of fostering a team environment. Maintain a current book of business along with a billable utilization target. Cross-sell TRC services and increase business from accounts under management. Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Geological Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering. Professional engineering registration. 8 years' experience leading project teams and managing technical staff under a Seller/Doer business model providing geo-environmental consulting services on site and land development, landfill/solid waste, and renewables (solar, wind, battery storage) projects. Proven track record with business development, management, and oversight of regional businesses. Experience managing profit and loss at both project and operational levels. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Recent client relationships in the Northern California/San Francisco Bay Area markets providing consulting services for geotechnical engineering, construction services, solid waste management, remediation, and/or renewable energy development markets. Master of Science degree in Geotechnical Engineering. Compensation: In accordance with California state law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $110,000 - $150,000. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
