The Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHS&S) Department manages our environmental performance, assures regulatory compliance and drives Our Journey to Zero, the company’s blueprint to achieve our goal to eliminate events that could inflict serious–or even fatal–injuries to employees or contractors, or result in severe process safety events. Responsibilities Serve as the plant’s representative on EHSS Manager Team, OE Deployment Team, Health & Safety Best Practice Team, PSM Best Practice Team and Security Best Practice Team. Supervise Facility Environmental Engineer, PSM/OE Coordinator, Safety Specialists, a Security guard contractor, and potential grad within organization to support overall EHSS Goals and Requirements. Develop and implement EHSS strategies, systems, policies, and procedures. Execute Monthly Plant Safety Meeting including goal updates and other topical updates as needed. Ensure EHSS field presence to oversee and support all employees and contractors. Ensure compliance with company, local, state, federal and OSHA rules and regulations. Ensure compliance with OE Standards, plant permits and other environmental requirements. Required Qualifications B.S. Degree in Engineering; Environmental Science; Safety Engineering; Industrial Health; Safety & Fire Protection or a closely related EHS&S field. 5 years of related work experience, all of which is in the refining / petrochemical industry. Knowledge and experience in safety, health, industrial hygiene, and environmental. Working knowledge of EPA, OSHA regulations and Process Safety Management systems. Experience in developing and implementing safety policies and programs. Detail oriented and complete work with a high degree of accuracy. Highly motivated, a self-starter, able to handle multiple tasks concurrently, and have strong communication skills. Work effectively with many functional groups and manage a small organization. Ability to proactively address and/or resolve conflicts with other functional groups and reach agreements with those groups to be successful. Unwavering commitment to safe and reliable operations. Preferred Qualifications Previous supervisory experience. Good working knowledge of mechanical integrity policies, process safety management, planning & scheduling processes and spare parts processes.
