Project Controls Cost & Scheduling Associate Hecate Energy is seeking a Project Controls Cost & Scheduling Associate to facilitate the project execution and construction management for solar and storage projects for Hecate Energy’s 50 GW development project pipeline. The specific responsibilities and compensation package for this position will be commensurate with experience. This position will be based in Chicago, IL and report to the Senior Director of EPC. Responsibilities Develop and maintain project construction budgets including implementing a basic change management system for engineering and construction. Develop, analyze, and maintain complex project schedules, identifying relationships, logic, milestones, durations, and constraints for major projects. Collaborate with key stakeholders to analyze the project’s latest schedule durations, schedule updates, and Estimate at Completion cost forecasts. Reconcile project expenditures and lead monthly budget management reviews. Perform monthly project schedule, cost, and variance analysis reporting to the team and management’s review to ensure that expenditures are kept within the project budget. Monitor and proactively identify schedule risks, financial risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies to ensure the project is executed within schedule and budget. Support the control and monitoring of project total expenditures, including verifying and checking of invoices and claims from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure that all project expenditures are captured and properly recorded. Ensure all inbound invoices are complete and contain necessary paperwork (lien waivers, PWA compliance, etc). Help establish record keeping processes to confirm contractor and vendor compliance with IRA Prevailing Wage & Apprenticeship and other project specific requirements (e.g. domestic content, local in-State sourcing, MWBE). Support preparation of outgoing invoices related based on achieved project milestones and progress. Maintain cash forecast aligning anticipated incoming and outgoing invoice payables. Run and manage schedule and cost review meetings. Actively contribute to the regional strategy and internal improvement initiatives. This position will include travel to project sites and other locations to support site evaluation and construction efforts. Opportunities to expand role to pre-construction planning, cost estimating, and evaluating market trends. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, finance, construction, or a related field 3 years of relevant experience in Project Controls, Project Management, or Project Finance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Passion for renewable energy. Comfort bringing sense to ambiguity and driving forward one’s technical initiatives. Ability to travel for site visits or meetings as needed (up to 10%). Valid US driver’s license. Self-awareness of one’s quirks and appreciation for those of teammates.
