Job Description About Us: Caelux is a pioneering leader in the field of perovskite solar cell technology, committed to revolutionizing the renewable energy sector with cutting-edge innovations. We are at the forefront of developing full-scale (1x2m) high-efficiency, cost-effective solar solutions and are looking for a visionary Vice President of Process Development to lead and elevate our manufacturing processes. Job Summary: The Reliability Engineer IV will be responsible for reviewing equipment life cycles and performing analyses to inform how the business can invest and maintain its assets. As the production specialist, this individual will use their expertise to identify potential issues and prevent production fails or malfunctions. This individual will also enhance process efficiency and ensure the scalability of our production systems to meet our ambitious growth targets. Responsibilities: Develop hypotheses and models (e.g., acceleration models) and validate those hypotheses and models using experimentation. Design and support execution of experiments to qualify improvements for thin film solar cell performance, reliability, and stability, and to reduce manufacturing cost. Perform root-cause failure analysis and component degradation characterization, using SEM/EDX, XRD, EL/PL, and other diagnostics. Organize and present findings. Drive and supervise efforts with certification and other external labs (Certification labs, PACT, NREL, Sandia, and academic partners) to obtain certificates for required IEC or UL standards (e.g., UL1703, IEC 61215, 61730, 62840, 61646). Develop methods and teach technician staff to build and test devices for reliability, including: Building small solar modules: encapsulation/lamination, framing, stringing/tabbing, and connectorizing for reliability/durability testing. Instrumenting and subjecting samples to accelerated chamber testing of solar mini-modules and modules to damp heat, thermal cycling, humidity freeze, light and elevated temperature, and other in-house developed stress-test methods, as well as outdoor testing. Characterizing solar modules using electroluminescence (EL) or photoluminescence (PL) imaging, light I-V testing, IR imaging, and other diagnostics. Support R&D Lab with development of new techniques and new equipment.
