Come join in on our purpose - We put people to work, we protect American freedoms, and we help our customers power and improve the world As the TSS Senior Electrical Engineer, here's the work you'll do: Lead and direct others to create, edit and check project documents to include plans and BIM models, specifications, power studies and reports, and support documents (basis of design); check work delegated to other engineers and designers to ensure projects are successfully completed within scope. Mentor and train other engineers and designers in the department; serve as Discipline Lead. Ensure positive client relationships and client service with focus on winning new work; support business development activities (pursuit opportunities, fee proposals, change modifications); write technical articles for journals or other technical publications. Serve as the main point of contact to clients for electrical department project responsibilities (meetings, conference calls, comment review/responses, etc.). Perform ITRs and other tasks as required. Comply with data protection principles while handling personal, protected and/or Covered Defense Information on behalf of Day & Zimmermann. Data Handlers should be trained to follow documented policies, standard operating procedures and secure practices associated with protecting trusted employee and customer data. This role is for you if you have these skills: Fully skilled (expert level) and able to lead and direct and train others in all aspects of electrical and telecommunications design including the production of plans, specifications, basis of design, power quality studies, reports and other electrical engineering documents, and performing complex calculations. Knowledge of business and management principles and processes for providing client services; innovative and able to come up with new ideas and better ways of doing things. Thorough knowledge and understanding of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), ASHRAE 90.1 and other energy codes, and client design criteria (UFCs, OBO Design Standards, GSA), and familiar with the Telecommunications Distribution Methods Manual (TDMM). Knowledge of advanced concepts such as systems reliability and electrical system coordination and protection. Interpersonal savvy and willingness/ability to communicate effectively (oral and writing) with M&H team members as well as clients; able to take direction and guidance from leadership within the company, and able to provide direction and guidance to less senior staff within department. Functions as senior technical leader providing training and mentoring to more junior staff within department. Responsible as client facing representative of electrical department. Actively participates in business development to include project pursuit opportunities, developing fee proposals and contract change modifications. Provides critical involvement to ensure client success can be achieved. Success requires projects to be delivered on time, within budget, high quality, well-coordinated and constructible. Some travel may be required. The Sr. Engineer gains and maintains perspective beyond the technical silo of project electrical engineering. Develops solutions in anticipation of challenges and leverages perspective to ensure project team is appropriately focused. Ensures the department is operating efficiently and well-coordinated with other departments and project managers as well as with clients and consultants. Responsible Engineer Of Record accountable for technical sufficiency of all electrical department project deliverables, to include both electrical and telecommunications disciplines. Must build trusted relationships with department through maintaining ownership for assigned work and delivering efficient and high quality results. Expected to be a proactive learner, responsible to seek out support when needed, identify expectations, check own work output against quality expectations, and pursue opportunities to grow technical capabilities. Maintains professional humility and respect in partnership with all team members in pursuit of overall project success. Is expected to know their own technical limitations and proactively seek out support where needed. Other duties as assigned. Data privacy, information security and policy compliance. And if you have these qualifications: Bachelor or Master Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology; Degree must be ABET accredited, or acceptable to the State Board of Engineers for licensure as a professional engineer. 12 years of experience. Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) preferred; LEED AP preferred. Professional License in Electrical Engineering. Ability to obtain a TS security clearance preferred. In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $104,480-$156,720.
