The Business Analyst utilizes their understanding of business processes to ensure requests for IT are strategically aligned and are delivered as efficiently as possible. In this role the incumbent will: Responsibilities Interface with Business Users, Business Analysts, Developers, Operations, Service Desk and Infrastructure team to determine the most efficient and cost-effective IT approach to meet business requirements which aligns with Segment and IT Strategy: Act as an IT liaison to and representative for the Services segment for enterprise business solutions. Assist with developing business requirements for new requests such as project concept, scope, benefit, budget, and timelines. Assist in determining the most efficient and cost-effective IT approach and solution to meet business requirements ensuring synergies with Segment and IT Strategies. Project or request execution and management: Assist Project Management, IT management and stakeholders in establishing project/request objectives and priorities. Collaborate with project sponsors to determine project scope and vision. Participate in the development of Process Flows, Activity Diagrams, Use Cases, Test-sheets, and other IT statements of work. Provide plans and status reporting on projects/requests. Monitor progress of projects/requests against critical milestones. Document, track, resolve or escalate all issues in a timely manner. Organize and monitor testing, training, documentation and sign offs. Provide structure, controls and assessment on projects. Provide project leadership on small to medium size projects and initiatives. Complete assigned projects and project tasks with limited supervision. Communication and Change Management: Identify, communicate, and implement business process change to ensure benefits are achieved. Assist in providing communication links to team members and senior management. Identify, monitor, and communicate project risk factors, issues, status, and results to the business. Understand the overall Business and IT Strategic Plans and translate into IT initiatives. Provide change management to be utilized throughout projects. Assist in the definition, measurement, milestones and communication of the business changes. Assist in identification, prioritization and management of potential barriers to a successful implementation. Advise on the management of individuals and cultural resistance to increase the readiness for change. Lead idea generation while advising the business about existing system limitations and budget effects of customizations driven by process and business model changes. Production Support and Measurement: Support business processes within enterprise and custom developed systems. Support for all phases of a project life cycle including analysis, design, development, testing and deployment of solutions. Support for end-user training and documentation creation. Support business requirements requested from business users including continuous improvement, special projects and production support. Assure that the deployment and support efforts meet business requirements. Minimum Requirements Undergraduate degree (Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration, Finance or equivalent). 6 years of progressive IT related experience. Experience with general hardware, software, and networking technologies is desirable. AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) Industry experience is a plus. Certification or training in one or more disciplines such as project management, change management or business process re-engineering is highly desirable. Ability to drive business process change. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Ability to adapt within a fast-paced, changing environment. Ability to take ownership of the product team's work.
