About Redwood Materials Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 to create a circular supply chain for electric vehicles and clean energy products, making them more sustainable and driving down the cost for batteries. Electrical Systems Engineering Manager, New Products You will be an early member of a new engineering team, responsible for driving the electrical design, development, and integration of a new product at Redwood. In this role, you will immediately lead a small team of engineers, guiding them through complex systems integration, test engineering, and power electronics design challenges and ensuring successful project execution. You will collaborate closely with mechanical, firmware, and systems engineering teams. As the product builds momentum, you will be instrumental in building and leading the electrical engineering team, setting the foundation for scaling our product. Responsibilities will include: Lead and execute the electrical system design and development of a large-scale renewable energy solution from concept to deployment, including electrical architecture, authoring requirements, system integration, power electronics design, and integration with grid infrastructure. Select power conversion products, supervisory control modules and balance of system components, working closely with suppliers and vendors to ensure cost-effective, high-quality solutions. Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, and systems engineers to ensure seamless integration of the overall product. Manage engineering projects in a hands-on capacity to deliver on project goals and timelines. Take a leadership role in recruiting, mentoring, and managing a high-performance electrical engineering team. Stay up to date on industry advancements and best practices, ensuring that our designs are at the forefront of technology and compliant with relevant standards. Contribute to a collaborative, fast-paced startup culture, where every team member plays a crucial role in achieving company milestones. Desired Qualifications: BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field. 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus in batteries, renewable energy systems, or similar large-scale projects. Proven track record as a senior electrical engineer, with hands-on design, prototyping, and testing experience in building products at scale. Experience in Altium or related E-CAD software. Experience in the development of tools, infrastructure and design practices for a growing team. Strong leadership and project management skills, with demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build relationships with all levels of the organization and present to internal and external executives. The position is full-time.
