Under general supervision, the Building Science Specialist provides Slipstream with energy conservation measures and program eligibility expertise. Primary and Essential Responsibilities Assist in and/or lead the development of building science technical training and program support materials. Deliver classroom training for energy efficiency professionals on installation of measures, diagnostic testing, combustion safety testing, building data collections and computerized modeling software. Provide in-field technical training and mentoring for energy efficiency professionals on installation of measures, diagnostic testing, combustion safety testing, building data collection and computerized modeling software. Review existing curricula and support materials to provide enhancements and conformance with most current building science components. Provide technical support related to building science expertise to internal and external customers. Train and/or proctor for Building Science Certifications including Rater Certification. Conduct or assist in the implementation of building science research activities, including collecting and analyzing data, summarizing results, and preparing reports. Conduct quality assurance site visits for whole house, emergency heating system replacements and prescriptive energy conservation measures including ratings, collecting and analyzing data, evaluating and inspecting the work of providers and contractors, and creating reports to document site visits based on findings. Provide information for and review of data for monthly and other reports as requested by the program and/or project manager. Actively participate as a member of assigned workgroups. These responsibilities are not all inclusive and other duties may be assigned from time to time. Qualifications Competencies Exhibited ability to manage workload assignments & meet deadlines; works autonomously or in small teams. Proven project management & leadership skills. Experience with budget & contract management. Ability to lead cross-functional team(s). Project management experience to include but not limited to project design implementation, facilitation for large projects & ensuring deadlines are met. Familiarity with research plans and analytics. Proven ability to perform energy assessments and diagnostic testing related to, but not limited to, worst case draft, heating system efficiency and air flow, IR scanning, pressure diagnostics, carbon monoxide analysis, and blower door testing. Ability to provide technical support to contractors and program providers. Works with weatherization management and field staff, insulation contractors and HVAC contractors. Demonstrated use of residential building science best practices. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience. Minimum 3 years of work-related experience. Basic proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite. Licenses/Certificates Building Performance Institute (BPI), Home Energy Professional (HEP), Quality Control Inspector (QCI) certification, or the ability to become certified upon hire. J-18808-Ljbffr
