This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Environmental Engineer (part-time) for our Indianapolis, Indiana office. Join a team of professionals that delivers professional consulting services mainly for Industrial Manufacturing, Transportation, and Oil and Gas industry. Tasks may include assisting with the development of processes and infrastructure relating to water supply, wastewater treatment, hazardous or solid waste disposal, air emission sources, pollution control, environmental compliance, and preserving the quality of the environment by averting the contamination and degradation of air, water, and land resources. Generates accurate and concise reports and documentation regarding field conditions; and assessing and advising on the short- and long-term risks to ecological and human health. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards. Your Impact Work with members of our Earth and Environment Team to provide direction and support existing client relationships. Serve as Project Engineer for current and future projects, working with clients daily to set strategic direction for project execution. Independently manage and execute projects to meet compliance schedules. Performs moderately complex technical tasks within a broad work-scope, and/or plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates project work for large work-scopes. Prepares technical proposals and reports, in whole or in part, depending on the size and complexity of the document. Demonstrates competency in a combination of areas including engineering, field supervision, technical knowledge and task management. Motivates, trains and mentors subordinate staff assigned to his/her tasks or projects. Prepares components of investigation and engineering reports including work summaries, data summaries, engineering calculations, summary tables, figures, engineering drawings and specifications, and report text. Prepares technical evaluations and recommendations. Review of contractor submittals including equipment, Work Plans and QA/QC plans. Tracking payment applications, requests for information, change order requests and general construction phase submittals. Will travel to project sites as required; may include overnight travel. Who You Are Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or Master's degree in environmental engineering. Minimum 5-7 years experience. The candidate must have strong computer and writing skills. Must be proficient in MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Willingness and ability to interact with regulatory agencies, stakeholders and clients and develop effective teamwork relationships. Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek. Ability and willingness to travel to project sites as required. Excellent time management skills and ability to track compliance deadlines Excellent communication, both verbal and written, and organizational abilities The successful candidate must be able to work independently and show a high level of initiative and attention to detail. Proficiency with technical and business writing, office automation, and communication software, technology, and tools. Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. Project management experience with small to mid-level projects including scoping, and tracking hours and expenses for project work. Ability to plan and conduct inspections and investigations on various aspects of the construction and design of facilities or structures, applying applicable regulations and policies. Effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience. Highly capable self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment. Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC. Proficiency with technical writing, office automation, discipline-specific design software (i.e., MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, InRoads, Geopak, GeoSlope, ANSYS, STADD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS), technology, math principles, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools. Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree in Engineering. Essential Professional Licensure/Certification.
