Senior Associate, US Tax Analytics The Tax Senior is a key participant responsible for all US tax compliance , the quarterly US domestic and international provision (subpart F & GILTI), supporting both planning and M&A transactions. Successful candidates will demonstrate an ability to think critically, take ownership and identify issues and opportunities. Our Arlington tax team regularly handles sophisticated multi-jurisdictional transactions. We apply technology to increase efficiency, allowing us to focus on the exciting parts of being a tax professional. The team at AES has combined operations, technology and modeling under one group to go beyond traditional compliance and reporting to acquire insights from our data; it is accountable for all aspects of US Federal income tax compliance (domestic and international), state and local tax filings, quarterly income tax provision, long-term forecasting, analytics with data visualization, modeling of tax legislative changes, and controversy. As a member of an impactful team, candidates will be able to demonstrate an ability to think critically, take initiative and identify challenges and opportunities. Responsibilities: Review aspects of the US Federal and state income tax return, estimated tax payments, state sales, use tax returns including forms 1120, 5471, 8858, 8865 and associated schedules and statements. Prepare components of the quarterly provision for income taxes including GILTI, annual budgeting and modeling of US tax reform, Subpart F, section 163(j), domestic M adjustments and foreign tax credits. Conduct technical research and quantitative analysis for tax planning projects: calculating tax basis, gain and loss calculations, E&P analysis, etc. Develop effective working relationships with non-tax counterparts in finance, legal and treasury. Exhibit project management and self-management, communication and teaming skills. Demonstrate ownership and accountability for achieving goals and objectives. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or tax. Master’s degree is a plus & CPA. Minimum of 2 years of experience with an accounting firm in tax or multi-corporate tax department. Experience in preparation of Forms 1120, 1065, 1118, 5471, 8865. Experience with Corptax a plus. Self-motivated with good time management skills. Comfortable leading multiple work streams and competing priorities. Possess critical-thinking skills able to consider multi-variable analysis. Anticipatory and curious mentality, willingness to challenge assumptions. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
