If you’re excited about the opportunity to lead a team of program managers in funding innovative multifamily housing projects, we want to hear from you We’re hiring a full-time Senior Director, Multifamily Development & Finance for our Multifamily Housing Division. As the Senior Director, Multifamily Development & Finance you will play a crucial role in advancing mission-driven projects that create lasting change. In this role, you will: Provide leadership to establish, maintain, and manage a strong and well-functioning team of program managers. Participate in the creation of training curriculum to support the team’s growth. Ensure that team members are equipped to make sound decisions within their areas of responsibility. Exercise high level decision-making authority over the underwriting process, including screening, scoring, and selection of multifamily projects to provide recommendations for commitments of tax credits and capital resources. Communicate and support recommendations to senior management, the Board of Directors, and external stakeholders, including developers, consultants, and regulatory bodies. Prepare and oversee the process of creating and obtaining approvals of credit memoranda and other documents for Multifamily Working Group, Multifamily Housing Committee, and Board of Directors. Lead discussions and explain underwriting decisions to senior management and the Board of Directors, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Establish and maintain appropriate and effective working relationships with developers, consultants, and governmental officials at the local, state, and federal levels. Serve as the primary spokesperson for NH Housing’s multifamily programs, articulating decisions and communicating the organization’s position to external partners, the public, and key decision-makers. Oversee the collection and availability of project data. Report on program performance and contribute to the development and presentation of effective metrics for internal program evaluation and reporting to senior management and Board of Directors. Demonstrate accountability for program outcomes, identifying potential challenges, and implementing corrective measures to ensure program success. Your experience, skills, and education should include: Ability to communicate the organization’s mission, and upper management’s approach to advancing the mission, with clarity and regularity. Must be able to explain the connection between the mission and daily activities and operational decisions. Ability to communicate performance expectations clearly and consistently. Excellent business writing and vocabulary skills with the ability to translate complex information into common terms Familiarity with zoning regulations, building codes, and energy conservation practices. Education: eleven years relevant work experience including proven success in team leadership, Master’s Degree in a related field preferred. For training purposes, the first six months of work will be in the office. Intermittent remote work available after that time.
