Role Definition As a Mechanical Piping Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the piping systems within our production units. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including process, electrical, and safety engineers, to ensure that all piping systems meet technical, regulatory, and environmental standards. Your main responsibilities will include: Designing and specifying piping systems for the transport of gas, liquids, and other media within bio-methane and biogas production units. Performing stress analysis and mechanical integrity assessments to ensure the durability and safety of piping networks. Selecting appropriate materials and ensuring the correct sizing of pipes, fittings, valves, and related mechanical equipment based on process requirements. Overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of piping systems in accordance with NF EN 13480 and CODAP. Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, including ATEX and environmental requirements for gas handling and storage systems. Collaborating with procurement teams to define technical specifications for piping materials and liaising with vendors to ensure quality standards are met. Managing piping inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT) to guarantee system integrity and detect potential leaks or failures. Participating in project planning and providing technical support during construction and maintenance phases. Ensuring piping systems are optimized for energy efficiency and minimal losses during operation. Profile A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, or a related field. Initial experience (internship or junior role) in mechanical or piping design for industrial projects. Familiarity with piping design tools and a strong understanding of material specifications and standards. 5 years of experience in piping design and engineering within the energy, gas, or industrial sectors. Expertise in stress analysis, piping layout, and material selection for complex industrial systems. Proven ability to lead piping projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Why Join Us? Contribute to innovative and sustainable projects in the renewable energy sector. Be part of a growing team with opportunities for career advancement. Work on cutting-edge technologies in a dynamic and fast-evolving environment. Qualifications Piping Design and Layout Expertise in the design and layout of industrial piping systems, including the ability to create and interpret P&IDs and isometric drawings. Familiarity with 3D modeling software such as AutoCAD Plant 3D, Bentley AutoPLANT, or PDMS. Stress Analysis and Mechanical Integrity Experience in performing stress analysis on piping systems using software like CAESAR II to assess thermal expansion, pressure fluctuations, and mechanical load impacts. Ability to conduct mechanical integrity assessments to ensure the long-term reliability of piping systems in high-pressure environments. Material Selection and Specifications Knowledge of material selection for piping systems, including metals, alloys, and plastics, suited to handle biogas, bio-methane, and corrosive environments. Understanding of relevant codes and standards such as NF EN 13480, CODAP, and NF EN ISO 15649 for piping design and construction. Piping Fabrication, Installation, and Testing Experience in managing the fabrication, installation, and testing of piping systems in an industrial environment, including conducting pressure tests, leak tests, and commissioning activities. Familiarity with welding techniques, flange connections, and installation best practices to ensure system integrity. Regulatory Compliance and Safety Standards (ATEX) Knowledge of ATEX regulations and safety standards for piping systems installed in explosive atmospheres, particularly in gas production environments. Understanding of environmental and safety regulations related to biogas and methane production and transport.
