RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for the professional and efficient managing of telephone calls and messages. Answers incoming telephone calls, determines purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel or department. Keeping a log of calls and information received. Welcomes on-site visitors, determines nature of business, and announces visitors to appropriate personnel. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of office procedures, practices, and etiquette. Skill in telephone/receptionist etiquette and courteous communication with the public, verbally and in writing. Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Work confidentially with discretion. Work independently with little direction. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Skilled in the operation of a variety of office machines including personal computers, telephones, and copiers. Knowledge of IES computer systems.
