Pennant Solutions Group is in search of a Project Manager with a passion for the solar industry. As a Project Manager, you're responsible for delivering top-notch service, ensuring the seamless operation of solar projects, and achieving or surpassing the agreed-upon service-level standards for both internal and external clients. Your success will hinge on your exceptional project management abilities, understanding of solar operations and maintenance, financial acumen, expertise in human resources and its various areas, and familiarity with the specific industry each project operates in. Top-tier Project Leads are meticulous, well-organized, customer-oriented, hardworking, intellectually inquisitive, flexible, resilient, adept at handling logistical challenges, and possess above-average skills in technical writing and communication. This role crosses between customer management, project management, scheduling, technical skills, and internal people coordination. 100% REMOTE ROLE (must be in Hawaii time zone). Travel Requirements: Travel is necessary to fulfill service-level requirements and attend required business meetings. Essential Duties & Time Commitment - Arrange necessary calls and meetings. - Carry out all required project tasks and ensure compliance, allocate resources as needed. - Address any issues to keep projects on schedule. - Monitor and advise on progress towards established project milestones. - Monitor and advise on progress towards project budgets (time, resources, materials, overall costs, etc.). - Often serve as the main point of contact for clients on a day-to-day basis and manage projects within your portfolio. - Ensure the quality of outputs meets standards and meets client needs. - Oversee and manage project portfolios and battery storage systems (BESS) for all preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and operations. - Occasionally visit project sites or conduct remote troubleshooting and analysis through smart software platforms. - Ensure project continuity in the face of changes in resources or re-deployment during a project's lifecycle. - Work with the Commercial Assets Manager, advisors, consultants, clients, and other team members to continually improve processes, practices, and services. - Develop and present reports and presentations using tools like PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc. - Advance projects by demonstrating managerial bravery, honesty, and the ability to operate independently. - Ensure deadlines and project requirements are met or exceeded. - Provide daily oversight and guidance to field staff. - Participate in hiring, performance management, coaching, and training. - Create, gather, and record knowledge, including updating and maintaining technology systems, records, operating processes, procedures, and guidelines as directed by upper management. Certifications and Expertise in Preferred Areas: - PMI certification is highly valued; Proficiency in Excel, Google, MS Office, and SmartSheet; Understanding of electrical/mechanical diagrams, project design drawings, and other architectural plans/construction documents; Knowledge of electrical measurement tools, performance testing methods, and interfaces of products/software programs; Capability in analyzing PVSYST models and engineering/design data. - Certifications from inverter and battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturers (for example, SunGrow, Power Electronics, Solectria), Level 1 Thermography certification, and IT/networking abilities (MODBUS, TCP/IP, FIBER, SCADA, SEL). - NABCEP PV Installer Certification is a significant advantage. - A minimum of OSHA 30 Certification and completion of NFPA 70E courses are required. - CPR/First Aid certification. Specialized Knowledge: - A deep understanding of solar, renewable energy, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and other power systems (including DC systems up to 1500v). - Knowledge of the National Electrical Code, OSHA, and standard design and construction practices. - Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to computer networks and data acquisition systems. - Basic knowledge in Human Resources, Labor and Employment Law, Payroll, Benefits, Talent Acquisition/Recruiting, Entrepreneurship, Private Equity, Finance, and Auditing. Company/Industry-Specific Knowledge: - Experience in renewable energy, particularly solar and photovoltaic systems, is a plus. - Background in Engineering, Life Sciences, Utilities, Private Equity, Financial modeling, and Consulting. - Physical Requirements: - The ability to lift up to 25 pounds. - Safely navigate uneven terrain. - Prolonged sitting or driving. - Climbing ladders while carrying 50 pounds. - Working in extreme weather conditions.
