Job Description Rule Engineering (Rule) is hiring for a non-remote Staff Geologist position in Lakewood, CO. The primary role for this position is to provide environmental technical support, including both field and office work. Rule is a small company environment that requires individuals to conduct a wide variety of tasks. Primary Responsibilities: Groundwater, surface water, soil, wastewater sampling and monitoring. Installation of wells and remediation systems. Review analytical data against compliance standards. Use Microsoft Word to prepare reports. Use Microsoft Excel to prepare tables. Use of GIS and CAD to prepare figures. Geologic and Hydrogeologic modeling. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: The desire to work in a small engineering consulting company servicing industry. Ability to complete work safely and comply with health and safety requirements. Bachelor’s degree in Geology, or equivalent. Must be able to pass random drug and alcohol tests, including marijuana. Strong interpersonal written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate with a collaborative team and clients. 2-5 years of work experience. Understanding of GIS and CAD, at a minimum. Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Ability to independently calibrate and maintain sampling instrumentation. Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision. Willingness to travel as needed, likely not more than 25%. Sign confidentiality agreement and agree to be subject to and pass background checks. US citizenship or green card is required. Additional Qualifications: A GIT with intentions to obtain a PG. Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training. Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. Groundwater sampling experience. Knowledge of Global Positioning Systems (GPS). Physical Requirements: The position includes office and outdoor field work, with the ability to consistently lift upwards of 60 pounds.
