2025 Entry Level Staff Engineer - Site Design Potential Work Locations: CT - Middletown, CT - Shelton Division: Land Use Where would you step in? You will work with a team of engineers, landscape architects, planners, and environmental professionals on a variety of infrastructure and complex land use projects. You will sit in our Middletown, CT or Shelton, CT office and work in a hybrid work environment. Our Land Use Team and Projects With nearly 100 professional engineers, our senior technical and project management leaders have earned an outstanding reputation with private, state, and local government clients who are also recipients of multiple ACEC Engineering Excellence and ASCE Project Awards. We assist clients from the initial conceptual planning stages of a project through schematic design, design development, permitting, construction documents, bidding, and construction oversight. Well versed in local, state, and federal regulations, as well as ever-evolving climate change impacts and concerns, we strive to incorporate sustainability and resiliency into our site plans and designs. What will you be doing? You will play a key role in our dynamic site/civil engineering group servicing private and municipal clients. Your projects will include site planning, computer drafting and design, permitting, and construction phase services for land development and renewable energy. You will also prepare technical specifications, cost estimates, reports, and correspondence. You will be asked to observe construction, help with shop drawings and submittals, and create as-builts and record plans. What do you need? You will need a BS degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, and you must plan to complete the FE and eventually the PE exam. Internship experience or full-time experience doing surveys, site engineering, design, permitting, or construction observation is preferred. If you have hands-on experience with AutoCAD and hydraulic/hydrologic studies and modeling, that would be a plus. The starting salary for candidates with a Bachelor's degree is $72,176; and the starting salary for candidates with a Master's degree is $76,336.
