Our client are a leading property investment company specializing in land acquisition and development for energy infrastructure projects across the UK and Germany. As part of a distinguished group established in 1985, we are committed to innovative energy solutions and building long-term value in the sector. They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Development to lead and grow our development team in Germany. This senior role involves managing a portfolio of energy projects, including battery storage, solar, and wind, from site identification to securing land and obtaining necessary permits. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in driving strategic development initiatives and overseeing the creation of ‘ready-to-build’ projects. Key Responsibilities: Identify and pursue new greenfield opportunities for energy projects, focusing on battery storage. Locate suitable properties, engage with landowners, and negotiate and finalize land purchases. Manage relationships with land agents and consultants, ensuring smooth project development. Lead project coordination with various stakeholders, including consultants, local authorities, and network operators. Oversee the preparation and submission of permit applications, collaborating with spatial planners and technical/environmental experts. Direct the approval processes with relevant regulatory bodies and manage bids for public and private tenders. Support pre-construction activities, including risk assessments, EPC negotiations, and preparation of technical and commercial documentation. Candidate Profile: Degree in engineering, business administration, real estate, geography, or related field, ideally with a focus on renewable energy, environment, or project management. At least 5 years of relevant experience in project management, especially in renewables or related infrastructure projects. Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills. Strong ethics, judgment, and team-oriented mindset. Fluent in German and English. Driver’s license required due to the travel nature of the role.
