We have an immediate need for a Vertical Markets Manager (Hybrid) based out of one of our Illinois offices. The Vertical Markets Manager is responsible for product planning and marketing of Sloan’s IoT product category. In this role you will ensure the success of the product category by managing the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, working closely with Engineering to deliver profitable products, and leading cross functional teams to introduce new products to the marketplace. You will collaborate with sales, quality, customer service and technical support teams to ensure customer needs are met. You will also ensure that product and marketing efforts are aligned with the company's strategic priorities. Responsibilities: Travel onsite 3 days/week to our Franklin Park, IL office or our downtown Chicago, IL office (your choice). The remaining 2 days/week will be remote. Defines product strategy and roadmap; includes new product opportunity assessments and product enhancement recommendations and SKU rationalization. Serves as voice of the customer for product category and apply to the company's ability to meet or exceed customer satisfaction goals. Conducts and leverages customer/sales analysis, competitive analysis, industry insights, technology trends and other external influences in developing product strategy and roadmap. Reports to executive management on product performance, customer and market trends relating to product. Establishes pricing strategies to meet revenue and profitability goals. Establishes product forecast for existing portfolio of products and new product introductions; ensuring stakeholder and leadership buy-in. Develops core positioning and messaging for product(s) that align with company brand and positioning strategy. Leads initiatives with engineering and operations for maintenance of product line and cost reductions. Develops and implements marketing programs, promotions, sales support and communications material to support efforts in driving product demand. Analyze and report the success/effectiveness of programs. Achieves financial goals relating to product revenue and margin that are aligned with the Company overarching financial goals; while managing expense budget. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, or related field. 7 Years in a product management role and/or product project technical management. Ability to work and influence at all levels within the organization. Demonstrate use of effective financial, analytical, organizational and project management skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills; including persuasion and negotiation skills. Experience in planning and project managing complex product launches. Experience in two-step distribution and related industry. Experience leading cross-functional teams. Strong analytical skills with high level understanding of business financials. Strong decision-making ability and the ability to work in and build a team environment. Strong strategic thinking skills and the ability to turn strategy into action.
