Staff Environmental Geologist/Engineer/Scientist (Irvine, CA) [SSEG-IRV] Job Description: Ninyo & Moore has an immediate opening for a Senior Staff Environmental Geologist in our Irvine, CA office. The successful candidate should have experience performing and reporting on Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments/Preliminary Endangerment Assessments (PEAs), periodic groundwater monitoring and field oversight for assessment and remediation projects. The candidate will also coordinate and participate in fieldwork activities, including drilling supervision, logging of borings; evaluating geologic and hydrogeologic conditions; and sampling soil, soil gas, and groundwater. Education: Bachelors degree in Geology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field. An advanced degree and/or professional registration is a plus. Current OSHA HAZWOPER is required. Required Skills: The successful candidate should have 3 years of experience, preferably with an environmental consulting firm performing duties described above. The ideal candidate must be familiar with permitting acquisition, performing site assessment and soil and groundwater remediation activities including some or all of the following: landfills, mines, UST/petroleum, roadways, chlorinated solvents, metals, and pesticide contaminated sites. Candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills, positive attitude, and a strong work ethic. Candidate must be able to work both independently and as a team member.
