Job Description We have an immediate opportunity for a Wildlife Biologist in the Southern and Northern California area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing individual project tasks and providing direction to the support staff. Duties and Responsibilities Ability to multitask with strong organization skills supporting the team and project management. Experience preparing and reviewing application and regulatory documents. Ability to prepare project scopes and proposals. Knowledge preparing and managing project schedules. Attend project and agency meetings. Manage field surveys as needed. Mentor entry-level and junior field staff. Background and Education Bachelor’s Degree in natural science; Master’s or PhD a plus. 3 years’ related work experience including project and task management. Previous experience working with regulatory processes. Must understand the federal Clean Water Act Section 404 and 401; Porter Cologne Water Quality Act; CDFW Fish and Game Code 1602; California ESA 2081; and ESA Section 7 and 10 processes. Experience with wetland delineations and/or other local flora and fauna field surveys. Knowledge of California biological habitats, species and general conservation biology/ecology. USFWS/CDFW permits and Memoranda of Understanding a plus. Excellent communication and writing skills.
