If you're passionate about this, we want to hear from you About the Role MWH is currently seeking a Quality Control Manager , under the company's Quality Management System, to support a large wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) project in San Francisco, CA. The project involves new, cutting-edge technology in the US wastewater market called Thermal Hydrolysis. This highly sophisticated technology essentially converts the biosolids from the treatment process into renewable energy. When completed, this will be the largest Thermal Hydrolysis wastewater treatment plant in operation in the entire U.S. Essential Functions Responsible for a thorough understanding of project drawings and specifications to ensure compliance. Monitor construction quality and support project staff in the performance of day-to-day activities applicable to the Quality Management System. Assist multiple project teams with the development of the project site specific quality plans. Coordinate, schedule, perform, and document ongoing quality inspections; verify all completed work complies with applicable permits, codes, drawings, and specifications. Ability to create piping and equipment testing plans. Troubleshoot and provide input into solving project technical problems / constructability issues. Provide quality expertise and advice in the proactive resolution of compliance issues (i.e. codes, standards, specifications, and regulations). Reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the project which are designed to ensure continuous quality improvement. Provide job site coaching and guidance on quality reporting and assist with monitoring trends and re-occurring quality issues. Maintain relationship with owner, subcontractors, design partners and stakeholders to support project partnering and issue resolution. Coordinate project quality training and partnering efforts. Support the company quality culture through promoting, recognizing, and rewarding positive quality behaviors. Work on multiple projects simultaneously. Work in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering or related field; an equivalent combination of relevant construction experience, skills and training will be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree. Minimum 3 years’ experience in inspection or construction. An equivalent combination of experience, skills, and training and/or trade school/apprenticeship diplomas may be substituted. Working knowledge of construction equipment techniques, drawings and specifications, building materials, and required standards applicable to discipline. Knowledge of quality control programs and ability to determine acceptability and deniability of work-based specifications. Team player but a self-starter/motivated. Detail oriented mentality is helpful for this position. Outstanding organizational skills: experience recording, tracking and managing data from across multiple disciplines and projects. Outstanding written and oral communication skills: experience interacting with internal staff and clients, and subcontractor staff members of all levels. Able to work independently, take direction from multiple group leaders, and coordinate with the Regional Director on a daily basis. Proficient with some of the following: BIM / VDC Construction Management, Three-dimensional modeling, drafting, visual scheduling, and collaboration tools. Preferred Qualifications Certification(s) by leading organizations within the quality management industry is desirable. Prior experience with water/wastewater construction. Onsite experience with a self-performing contractor, demonstrating successful performance on projects greater than $100M. Compensation: The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000, depending on experience.
