Power Transformers Senior Field Specialist GE Renewable Energy January 31, 2024 About the job The Service divisions of GE Grid Solutions GSI North America is currently seeking a senior power transformers field specialist. Reporting directly to the Head of Service Power Transformers (PTR) team, the incumbent will be responsible, in collaboration with the client and the engineering group, to ensure the erection, commissioning and maintenance of PTR systems and provide support equipment. It will also train and support these colleagues and the client’s employees in performing this task. The specialist should also be available 24/7 for support in case of emergency. Responsibilities Resource planning, equipment and time for commissioning, repair or maintenance expertise. Perform erection supervision of Power Transformers. Manage workers, customers, and/or switch on the site. Perform commissioning tests. Prepare progress reports, test results, and non-compliance reports. Annotate and edit drawings ‘as built’. Participate in the drafting of technical procedures. Submit external customers and internal technical documentation necessary for operation and maintenance of equipment. Provide information supplements as needed. Provide technical assistance in the preparation of submissions. Participate in the development of inspection criteria in collaboration with customers and engineering team. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Transformer or HV/MV apparatus or Electrical Engineering. Minimum of 10 years of field experience in Power Transformers. Ability and willingness to travel up to 80% of the time. Desired Characteristics Good ability to interact and communicate with clients and workers. Advanced knowledge of electrical and electronic testing equipment. Experience in innovative service environment. Knowledge of design software (understand Single Line Diagram and electrical schematics), knowledge of office software (MS Office Suite).
