VideosDutiesHorticulture Urban Forester AideThis is an exciting role within the Capitol Grounds and Arboretum (CGA), that handles a variety of horticultural projects related to managing tree collections and assisting with other projects that support the management of historic cultural landscape records.
In this role, students will learn about plant taxa and classification by collecting tree specimens for mounting and filing into the U.S. National Arboretum Herbarium. Students will also assist the CGA Urban Forester with projects that support the management of historic cultural landscape records. Will collect data and enter the data into the CGA tree inventory system and perform analysis of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data in examining current and historic tree planting plans.
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
