DescriptionProvide technical and regulatory assistance to refinery and corporate personnel on environmental issues related to refinery operations, project support, and compliance with applicable regulatory and permit requirements.
- Manages complex environmental regulatory, permitting and compliance projects, at both a facility-specific level and corporate level.
- Understands and interprets regulatory requirements and determines the impact of these requirements on refinery operations. Presents issues to refinery and corporate management, as required.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of existing and proposed federal, state and local environmental regulations to ensure continued compliance with regulatory and permit requirements. Must have the ability to forecast the impact of regulatory changes on refinery operations and advise and recommend to management effective methods to implement changes.
- Assists with air emission calculations, including the development of new and improved methodologies.
- Provides written and verbal regulatory guidance when needed. Deliver presentations and training to refinery and corporate employees. Deliver presentations to industry groups, as needed.
- Assists the refineries in replying to Agency inquiries and enforcement actions.
- Participates in Corporate environmental audits as needed.
- Performs all duties following safety guidelines established by the Company.
- This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
Qualifications- Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Engineering or related Science is required.
- Minimum ten years of environmental engineering or related refinery engineering experience required.
- Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.
