Position Summary

Plan, oversee and coordinate projects related to sustainability programs within the Environmental Health Department; evaluate and monitor projects; coordinate with community partners; conduct analysis to determine sustainability needs in the community; provide technical support to the Sustainability Officer.Job descriptions are intended to present a general list of tasks/duties performed by employees within this job classification. Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements

Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in science, engineering, planning or public administration; and

Five (5) years of experience in environmental regulatory compliance, sustainability program administration, or environmental and scientific studies.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Possession of a valid New Mexico's Driver's License or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.

Principles and practices of sustainability program development and implementation
Principles, practices and methodologies of municipal-level climate change mitigation and adaptation
Current environmental conditions and sustainability challenges facing the Albuquerque metro area
Principles of data collection and analysis
Principles of report writing and preparation
Principles and practices of public speaking
Occupational hazards and standard safety practices
Public and sustainability directives and policy
Office procedures, methods and equipment including computers

Plan, oversee and coordinate sustainability projects within the Environmental Health Department
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, codes, regulations and ordinances
Interpret, apply and enforce applicable Federal, State and local policies, laws and regulations related to sustainability
Research, analyze and evaluate sustainability service delivery methods and techniques
Evaluate proposed sustainability issues and determine which guidelines, procedures, laws and regulations apply
Communicate clearly and concisely
Prepare and present clear and concise analytical, statistical and narrative reports
Work independently in the absence of supervision
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
