Role Description:Arcadis' Water Management Practice is seeking a Water Resources Engineer specializing in computational hydraulics to join our Water Resources team.
This role sits within our global business area of Resilience. Around the world, we are feeling the effects of climate change, rapid urbanization, and loss of biodiversity. The rate at which we are seeing large-scale, unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires, is becoming more frequent. We are here to steward and safeguard our natural environment and water resources while supporting and powering our world for the benefit of current and future generations.
Role Accountabilities:In this role, you will utilize your technical knowledge of water resource engineering and consulting to lead and support a growing base of projects across the United States. You will support the full spectrum of the project lifecycle (conceptual-level planning, permitting, detailed design development, and construction support) and participate in business development activities. Additional responsibilities include:
- Performing CFD modeling and surface water numerical modeling (coastal, circulation, waves, hydrology, and water quality) using their experience with ANSYS-Fluent and possibly with other models such as the Louisiana Integrated Compartment Model (ICM), HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, MIKE FLOOD, OpenFOAM, FLOW-3D and programming tools such as Matlab, Python, Fortran, and C++ for a variety of clients across the US
- Performing different roles on multi-disciplined projects including QA/QC reviewer, technical advisor, and/or client-facing hydraulic modeler,
- Working directly with clients to manage expectations, as well as work on various project pursuit efforts and execution of projects and as needed work as part of the US team
- Assisting with the development of project proposals, scopes of work, project budgets, and presentations
- Mentoring junior-level technical staff
Depending on project staffing needs, travel of up to 25% may be required for project site visits, client meetings, planning activities, or overseeing construction.
Key Skills & Experience:To succeed in this role, you should have technical expertise in computational hydraulics. Experience in project management and client interactions is preferred, along with strong skills in engaging with and presenting to clients, regulatory agencies, and other project stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience:Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Water Resources or Coastal) or a closely related discipline
- 7 years of experience in Water Resources
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Civil, Environmental, Water Resources, or Coastal Engineering
- ANSYS-Fluent, ICM, and HEC-RAS experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration in state of residence or the ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months

We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $88,500 - $140,300. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
