OverviewSOSi is seeking a Senior level Nuclear Engineer (Scientific Support). to be part of a unique, multi-discipline team assisting partners to fuse operations and intelligence information to enhance government efforts against current and emerging threats, and counterproliferation efforts.
Essential Job Duties- In this role, you will support defense analytic requirements with enhanced scientific and engineering research, as well as reverse engineering analysis.
- You will also conduct facility and vulnerability assessments on foreign nuclear capabilities.
- Develop innovative analytic and collection concepts across directorate mission areas, support assessment of new technologies techniques, methods, conduct multi-Intelligence integration, and plan programming budgeting.
Minimum Requirements- BA degree in relevant field.
- 8 years of experience supporting defense analytic requirements with nuclear engineering research.
- In lieu of BA degree, 12+ years of experience supporting defense analytic requirements with nuclear engineering research in lieu of a degree.
- Experience reviewing analytical products for cogent arguments, tradecraft standards, and adequate support.
- Ability to define comprehensive, new, or unique research approaches that enable rigorous assessments to address and contribute to high-level tasks.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal oversight.
- Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam.
- Demonstrates ability to define comprehensive, new, or unique research approaches that enable rigorous assessments to address and contribute to high-level tasks.
- Demonstrates in-depth analysis of analytic operations and knowledge management issues across organizational and intra-IC boundaries and clearly articulates key findings.
- Demonstrates ability to work independently and with minimal oversight.
- Demonstrates ability to review analytic products for cogent arguments, tradecraft standards, and adequate support for conclusions; routinely tests analytic rigor of analytic products.
Preferred Qualifications- TS/SCI with a current CI Poly
- Knowledge of nuclear sub-disciplines like thermos-hydraulics, seismic events, physics, computational science, or fission reactor engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in physics, engineering, engineering technologies, or a physical science field.
Work Environment- Normal office conditions
- On government site in Reston, Virginia
