Water Resources Civil EngineerRole Description: Huitt-Zollars, Inc has full-time opportunity for a Water Resources Civil Engineer (
Eng IV) with 5-10 years of experience in our Dallas, Texas location.
Preference is a licensed engineer in the state of Texas. Experience in the Dallas area is desired. The role will include providing oversight of a diverse range of stormwater projects in addition to managing project budgets and business development. The position will include working collaboratively in a team environment providing engineering analysis and design for public works infrastructure, urban development, and transportation projects.

Duties:- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for stormwater management, floodplain mapping, and drainage analysis and design.
- Utilize software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, XPSWMM, MicroStation ORD-DU, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and GIS for design and analysis.
- Conduct quality reviews on H&H work to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Develop scopes of work, fee estimates, and proposals for H&H projects and tasks.
- Support client engagement, permitting, and regulatory compliance with FEMA, TxDOT, and local agencies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepares and follows comprehensive Project Framework Instructions and proper work planning for a project. Ensures proper staff is assigned and utilized on their projects.
- Reviews project reports and performance metrics to track project progress and budget. Leads successful projects (profit, on-schedule, quality, satisfied client).
- Contributes to successful delivery and performance of projects
- Cultivates relationships with clients and holds strong relationships with clients
- Understands, follows, and enforces Huitt-Zollars' business process including weekly rhythm
- Takes active steps in the pursuit of winning new business or additional opportunities with existing clients and may be responsible for a stated portion of office sales goal. Assists and/or leads team in pursuit of new work (repeat work, SOQ and Proposals). Develops and/or executes project Win strategy.
- Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives. Ensures quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations.
- Actively engages and participates in the training, coaching, and mentoring of junior staff
- Understands duties and responsibilities, possesses necessary job knowledge and technical skills, maintains job knowledge current.

Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE).
- Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
- 5-10 years of civil engineering design experience.
- Strong technical skills in a wide range of hydrologic & hydraulic analyses.
- Utilize software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, XPSWMM, MicroStation ORD-DU, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and GIS for design and analysis.
- Ability to mentor staff in the preparation of civil engineering documents and specifications.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to write clearly to communicate technical issues and design ideas.

This position will office out of our Dallas, TX location in a 'Class A' office space including a state-of-the-art gym (no cost), covered parking, food court, and more. Physical Requirements:- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
