Overview Burlington Stores, Inc. is seeking a
Renewable Energy Project Manager , who will oversee the ongoing growth and development of Burlington'srenewable energy program.Theroleis responsible forimplementingthecomprehensiverenewablesstrategyin order toachieveBurlington'scurrenttarget of 20% renewable power by 2030.The role will play an essential role in continuing to grow the scope and scale of renewables in Burlington's utility portfolio.
A Day In The Life: Project& ProgramManagement:
- Manage Burlington's current renewable project portfolio,including all onsite solar and offsite supplycontracts
- Coordinate withlandlords andmanageincumbent vendors on all projects and deliverablesrelated to renewablesincluding landlord partnership projects and community solar projects
- Oversee allcurrentrenewablesprojectstoensuretheongoingoptimalperformance, including data logging, andinitiatingrepairand maintenanceofownedsolar arrays
- Coordinate with Facilities and Landlord Relations teams on anylandlordcontrolled onsitesolar,including re-roofs and repairs
- Assistwithcontract management of new and existing projects; work with BurlingtonCounsel to review, revise and executecontracts related to renewables portfolio
ProgramOutreach,Engagement& Development
- Liaise with Burlington's largest landlords on current and potential projects,including onsite solar, community solar, or other renewableinitiatives
- Maintain consistent andtimelyoutreach with portfolio of utility suppliersregardingderegulatedrenewable supply opportunities
- Engage potential vendors on newrenewablesopportunities
- Maintain and regularly updatetracker ofpotential renewables vendors and relevantnew technologiesrelated to renewables
- Completeregularresearchonnew opportunities in renewable technologies, including solar, wind, hydro and battery storage
Reporting and Analytics
- Maintain progress trackerof long-term renewables strategy to reach 20%renewable energyby 2030
- Managequarterly updatestoGHG roadmap; compile analysis to show how 2030 target will be met and create any requested deliverables for dissemination to senior leadership
- Maintain and update all renewables portfolio tracking documents
- Oversee onsite monitoring systems tracking solar production
- Compile and organize all renewable energy credits (RECs) received from renewable generation from all partners, including landlords, suppliers and third parties
- Manage allthird-partyREC tracking systems, including WREGIS, NE-POOL and GATS and ensure proper accounting of all expected RECs uploaded to the tracking systems
- Complete any requested analysis to compare annual REC generation to utilities
- Research, compile ongoing market analysis of solar landscape as it relates to market growth, saturation,opportunitiesand headwinds
- Complete any requested or required reporting of renewables generation; reports may include cost savings to tariffratesor GHGimplications
Renewable DeregulatedUtilities
- Coordinate with Burlington Utilities Team to ensure all renewables are accounted for in utilities portfolio; ensure accounts are up to date, shown in utilities portfolio and there are no accountor supplyoverlaps
- Provide oversight and recommendations for the inclusion of renewable supply in deregulated utilities portfolio
- Manage renewables accounts withinthe overallBurlingtonderegulatedutilitiesportfolio
- Provide anyadditionalsupport toBurlingtonUtilities team asit pertains to adding andsubtractingsiteson renewable deregulated contracts
- Ensuretimelyengagement with Burlington's deregulated utility consultant onadditionalopportunities to add renewables to portfolio, ensuringtiming and cost savings opportunities
You'll Come With: - Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred; or equivalent from a college or technical school.
- Knowledge of renewable energy, including but not limited to, onsite solar systems, battery storage, renewable energy markets, renewable energy credit mechanisms, incentives and tax programs, deregulated utilities including renewable supply.
- Experience and expertise in energy management and related technologies. Understanding of corporate sustainability and related finance, including budget building and accounting.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience, preferably with increasing responsibility.
- Experience with major capital projects with budgetary limits and deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables at once.
- Experience engaging major vendors and suppliers and holding them accountable to timelines and deliverables.
- Experience with renewable energy technologies, including onsite solar and battery storage
- Understanding of renewables markets, including deregulated utilities, renewable supply and RECs.
- Experience with energy management and related technologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to independently manage multiple projects to timely completion.
- Experience building financial business cases for capital projects.
- Ability to drive results through others.
- Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel.
Scope and Impact: - This role will interact acrossmanylevels and areas of the organization in the daily management ofBurlington's renewableenergyprogram and is a key partner in Burlington's 2030 Sustainability goals.Oversees and managesmultiple capital andopexprojects and engages witha number ofinternal stakeholders as well as external partners, includingmajor landlords,suppliersand vendors.
