By joining the Division for Air Quality's Technical Support Branch, Source Sampling Section as anEnvironmental Engineering Technologist I in Franklin County, you will have the opportunity to work acrossbranches within the Division and with the regulated community.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Conduct beginning level observations and evaluations of continuous emission monitor certification tests andcompliance tests.
- Perform beginning level audits of protocols for tests of air pollution sources to ensure proper testing andengineering practices.
- Perform beginning level evaluations and calculations on source emission test reports.
- Review regulations and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) test methods.
- Attend workshops, seminars, and meetings regarding test methods, protocols, and requirements.
The position requires climbing of ladders, using a harness at various heights that can range above 400 feet.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in engineering approved by the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors.

Working Conditions
Work is primarily performed in an office setting. Frequent travel throughout the state may be required.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
