About the positionProvide excellent customer service and operational support in a fast paced environment for a busy outdoor water park. Workers in this role may be assigned to one or more of the following areas:
Ticket Desk: Sell tickets, process payments, and greet visitors.
Concessions: Prepare and sell food and beverages.
Pool Monitor: Maintain safety and cleanliness on the pool deck.
Locker Room Attendant: Keep the women's locker room clean and stocked.
*Pay varies based on position.
Work Schedule- Work 10 - 40 hours per week
- Season runs from May - September 2024
- Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities Ticket Desk responsibilities:
- Open ticket desk for daily operation/close ticket area.
- Collect admission fees/ honor discount tickets/confirm season pass holders.
- Handle cash transactions, operate a cash register, and ensure the correct change is given.
- Count and balance cash drawer at the start and end of each shift.
- Record visitor attendance.
- Keep the ticket area clean and organized.
- Assist with guest questions and provide excellent customer
Concession Stand responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve food and beverages to customers.
- Operate concession equipment (cash register, soda machines, hot dog cookers, ice makers, pretzel warmers, etc.).
- Keep track of inventory and notify the supervisor when supplies are low.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary concession area.
- Restock food and beverage items as needed.
- Assist in pre-season setup and post-season cleanup of the concession stand.
- May be assigned to clean locker rooms as needed.
Pool Monitor responsibilities:
- Assist with crowd control on pool deck and locker rooms.
- Pick up trash and check for safety or maintenance issues.
- Perform light custodial tasks to maintain cleanliness and safety.
- Set up and take down tubes, umbrellas, deck chairs and other related items daily.
- Maintain lost and found articles and items.
Women's Locker Room Attendant responsibilities:
- Provide custodial services in the women's locker room, ensuring it is checked at least every 30-45 minutes.
- Mop floors and squeegee standing water into drains.
- Pick up trash and empty trash bins as needed.
- Restock essential supplies (toilet paper, soap, paper towels, etc.).
- Keep the locker room clean and welcoming for guests.
Minimum Qualifications - Must be at least 15 years old.
- Available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Comfortable handling cash and basic math for transactions.
- Friendly and confident when interacting with the public.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
For Women's Locker Room Attendant:
Desired Qualifications - Demonstrated cultural competence and comfort with supporting the city's strategic objectives for advancing racial equity.
- For pool monitor assignment:
- Interest or intent to become certified as a lifeguard in future seasons is preferred and encouraged.
- American Red Cross Guardstart or YMCA Aquatic Safety Assistant Certification is preferred.
For tickets/concessions assignment:
- Cash handling experience is preferred.
