Desired Technical Skills- Basic training and user experience in Aspen Plus/HYSIS Simulation package
- Basic knowledge and understanding of gas absorption and desorption system
- Basic knowledge and understanding of chemical thermodynamics and reaction kinetics
- Basic knowledge and understanding of chemical process design: developing process flow Diagrams (PFD), process and instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specification and sizing

Job Responsibilities- Support the development of process designs and models needed for an onboard marine CO2 capture (OCC) process (Capturing CO2 from Cargo Ships which are used for global marine transportations)
- Support the development of process models in AspenPlus® Simulation platform which involves chemical engineering principles
- Conduct simulations to produce heat and mass balances of the proposed OCC process
- Size and design the equipment needed to evaluate the capture system and on-board CO2 storage
- Evaluate the design for technical and commercial feasibility by through the development of a techno-economic analysis (TEA)
- Complete a life cycle assessment (LCA) to determine the total emissions from marine vessels using fossil fuels.
- Participate in weekly or bi-weekly internal update meetings with other project staff
- Present contributions to the project, respond to technical questions, and obtain feedback for subsequent project efforts.
- Attend company-wide staff meetings, where they will be exposed to strategic planning initiatives concerning technology commercialization, solicitation of funding and industry partnerships to underpin R&D efforts, and day-to-day operations that support the technical and business needs of this project.
