We are looking for a Water Resources Engineer in Trainingwho is passionate and excited about stormwater/drainage design.
In this position you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of infrastructure, pedestrian, and fish passage improvement projects for state and local agencies, all while intersecting with multi-disciplinary teams. See your project from paper to build condition by working on preliminary design, final design, construction-ready design documents, and provide design support during construction!

About the Role
Our new team member must be well-organized, thorough, and trustworthy, with excellent verbal and writing skills. In this role, we'll count on you to:
- Provide quality engineering reports, calculations, exhibits, and design drawings.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and develop design calculations to meet state and local agency requirements.
- Conduct site visits and provide data analysis, as needed.
- Assist in the development and compiling of plans, specifications, and engineers estimate (PS&E), and necessary QA/QC documentation.
- Provide design solutions for projects within budget and time schedules, ensuring compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and client and company standards.
- Provide support to the Project Manager or Design Manager for the coordination and development of project deliverables.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field required.
- Hold an Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or be able to obtain within six months. (Fundamentals of Engineering -FE exam)
- 0-3 years of experience in design, planning, and implementation of civil design projects with project management experience preferred.
- Familiarity with the principles and practices of project design and design development through the use of computer aided design software; AutoCAD Civil3D, MGSFlood, WWHM, MicroStation, InRoads, SWMM, HEC-RAS, etc. (or the drive and ability to learn quickly on the job)
- Ability to work independently and complete design tasks.
- Strong communication skills with clients and team members.
To thrive in this position, you may also have these qualifications:
- Knowledge and understanding of state and local Stormwater, wastewater, and/or surface water industry rules and regulations.
- Interest/experienceworking on linear roadway and highway/ projects.
- Familiarity with developing Temporary Erosion and Sediment Control (TESC) Plans and Construction Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (CSWPP)
- Active participation in industry organizations such as APWA, ASCE, WTS, etc.

This position can be based out of the Bellevue or Seatle office.

The expected compensation range for this position for employees based in the Bellevue/Seattle area is $78,000 - $88,000 annually and is dependent upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
