What we are looking forSCS Engineers is looking for a Project Manager or above for our Raleigh office to take on a client and project leadership role. The Raleigh office is a small up-and-coming office with a high ceiling. You would be contributing immediately to the success of the office. You will do project management, business development, and staff development. Project responsibility will have a primary focus on solid waste management, including landfills, solid waste facilities, composting, and other projects, which may require design, planning, engineering, permitting, construction and/or operations support. You will report to the Raleigh Office Manager and you will have direct reports. This position has potential for a hybrid setting.
How you can make an impact- Apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering and scientific principles and practices in solid waste assignment areas and related fields.
- Ensure that all projects are designed and delivered with the purpose of meeting our client's goals.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Oversee and develop lower level staff to advance their knowledge and career path.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and develop a detailed project plan to track progress.
- Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
- Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications.
- Make decisions independently on engineering or scientific problems and methods, plans and coordinate work, and represent us at meetings and conferences.
- Field work performed by high/driving in varied terrain and weather will be required, including but not limited to, surveys/data gathering, CQA liner installations, inspections, etc.
- Office-based tasks including: CAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, creating site plans and facility diagrams, and permit applications.
- Business development including: proposal preparation, meeting with clients, and attending industry-related conferences/trade shows.
- Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Construction, Environmental, Geotechnical or similar Engineering required. Environmental science degree would be considered.
- Minimum of 7 years of civil engineering/project management. Relevant solid waste experience including landfill gas management, landfill design and permitting is a plus.
- Required NC PE or ability to obtain within 6 months required.
- Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required.
Pay RangeUSD $90,000.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr.
