DC Solar For All Community Navigator Overview: The organization is seeking a passionate, people-oriented professional who can drive positive outcomes for families. This individual will implement innovative strategies to connect families with resources available through GHHI's programs and services, as well as complementary wrap-around referral services outside of the company that can further assist them.
Our mission is clear: to create and advance access to healthy, lead-safe, and energy-efficient homes for children and aging adults. Facilitating sustainable outcomes for families is essential to supporting our mission.
Here's how this role will make a difference:
Client Engagement:- Assist in triage support for referrals, ensuring clients are directed to the appropriate resources within GHHI.
- Support clients through the comprehensive enrollment and application process and other eligible programs.
- Compile the necessary documentation to enroll clients in Solar for All and other GHHI programs for which they are eligible.
- Be a point of contact for clients as they receive program services and serve as a connector to implementer partners, contractors, and subcontractors as appropriate.
- Maintain relationships with client, post-referral to internal programs, to ensure satisfaction with the provided services.
Resource Connection:- Aid clients in accessing resources related to lead hazards, asthma, household injuries, and other environmental health risks to help families achieve safe and stable housing.
- If ineligible for GHHI programs, facilitate connections to external programs and agencies that can assist them.
- Maintain a database of relevant external resources and programs for the state of Maryland.
Program Evaluation:- Collect quantitative and qualitative outcomes data from clients enrolled in Solar for All programs. Priority metrics may include energy usage, thermal comfort, and satisfaction with new appliances.
- Coordinate with GHHI staff and partners for additional priority metrics such as indoor air quality testing and health outcomes.
Outreach and Education:- As requested, work with our Outreach and Education Coordinator to cultivate community and stakeholder partnerships to promote prevention education and connect GHHI services with targeted audiences.
- Work with GHHI outreach, client intake, and home auditing staff so they can recruit and identify clients eligible for program.
- As needed, engage in community outreach through meetings, health fairs, and community events.
- Actively participate in company trainings and certification opportunities to continuously improve skillset.
- Advocate for families facing these challenges to help them achieve safe and stable housing.
Collaboration:- Participate in weekly departmental and monthly GHHI team meetings.
- Provide a client-focused perspective to GHHI policy and programs to ensure effective and efficient engagement.
- Work with peers to ensure that cross-education collaborations occur where needed.
Data and Compliance:- Maintain accurate tracking of outreach event attendees in the program database and follow up in a timely manner to share information about GHHI programs.
- Work with program manager to ensure proper data collection and database entry in adherence with program requirements for grant reporting and evaluation.
- Collaborate with the Data and Evaluation Coordinator to restructure outreach data touchpoints for greater functionality, new program reporting, and ease of reporting as needed.
Minimum Requirements of Education/Experience:- Bachelor's degree in public health, environmental science, social work, nursing, or a relevant field from an accredited college or university.
- Experience with housing intervention work or related fields is a plus.
Preferred Skills:- Knowledge of the Washington, DC area or other urban regions in the Northeast, with an understanding of local community dynamics.
- Cultural competency and strong interpersonal skills for interacting with colleagues, clients and program partners of all demographic and professional levels.
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
- A self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and follow projects to completion on schedule to achieve results for clients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data collection.
- Ability to work with various populations.
- Flexibility, initiative, and a collaborative spirit.

Additional Information: The salary for this position is set at $80,000 per year and is non-negotiable. This compensation reflects our commitment to transparency and consistency across our team.
