About the Position: Selects, develops, trains and supervises up to three EEIT staff in the Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) Program.Manages the oversight of UST contaminated sites to ensure the protection of human health and the environment.Assists Division Chief and Financial Branch with establishing and modifying goals, objectives and strategies related to LUST Program, Trust Fund, and Federal LUST Fund.Coordinates activities and communicates with regulated community, government agencies, contractors and ERAC, and the general public on matters related to the MDEQ LUST Program.Develop, revise, and maintain SOPs in GARD to ensure compliance with regulations/laws.Assist in oversight of administrative activities for LUST Program and staff.
What you'll need to be Successful: Experience related to the Underground Storage Tank Program; including regulations and remediation; knowledge related to Remediation of petroleum contaminated sites; prior management experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree, a valid certificate of registration as a Professional Engineer from the Mississippi State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, .and 6+ years of engineering experience.

This is typically the first level of supervision over professional individual contributor engineers, in which the focus is on supervision, resource management and the accountability for leadership of staff. Ensures the work of the team is performed in accordance with overall management objectives. Reviews and reports on work progress and outcomes.
