Process Engineer - Plating and Wet Process

Scope:

We are seeking a skilled and committed Process Engineer for our Plating and Wet Process departments. This salaried position demands a "Whatever it Takes" mentality, offering a dynamic role supporting production excellence, quality improvements, and process optimization. The role requires a minimum of 40-45 hours per week and occasional weekend work to meet department needs. You will work closely with the Engineering Manager and Director of Operations and will support other departments as necessary to drive productivity, efficiency, and quality within the facility.

Responsibilities:

Lead engineering initiatives in the Plating and Wet Process areas, recommending and modifying processes to optimize performance.

Drive quality improvement efforts, analyze root causes of quality issues, and implement corrective actions.

Assist Supervisors with process training, procedure adherence, and troubleshooting; ensure knowledge transfer through documentation.

Conduct regular process and operator audits to identify and correct procedural deviations.

Engage with vendors and communicate effectively with Maintenance, Production, and Lab/WWT teams for issue resolution and operational improvements.

Lead projects focused on productivity enhancement, waste reduction, cost control, and safety improvements.

Become proficient in equipment operation and serve as a technical resource, answering process-related questions and providing guidance to production staff.

Document process improvements and ensure information is accessible to the broader engineering and production teams.

Be available for consultation on process issues outside of regular working hours if needed.

Interface with CAM, customers, and other engineers to discuss production capabilities and process limitations.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related Science or Engineering field preferred, or equivalent experience.

Extensive hands-on experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role is required. Preferred PCB but not required.

Proficiency in computer applications relevant to engineering and manufacturing environments.

Ability to communicate complex process information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Willingness to travel occasionally to sister facilities for training or support purposes.

Strong analytical skills for root cause analysis and problem resolution.

A meticulous approach to process auditing, documentation, and quality control.
