Job Description Oracle is seeking a Senior Solution Architect to join our Energy and Water Delivery team. This role focuses on designing and implementing advanced solutions for utilities, including Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS), Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS), and Asset and Workforce Management. You’ll lead the development of scalable, secure, and high-performance systems that integrate smart grid and DER technologies to optimize energy distribution and management. The Solution Architect for DERMS will play a key role in our productized implementation of our Enterprise solution, incorporating client-specific design, integrations, and custom reports for our utility customers. Your subject matter expertise, combined with your software architecture background will help us continue to craft a scalable, secure, and high-performance solution that coordinates diverse front-of-the-meter and behind-the-meter distributed energy resources into the daily operations of demand side program managers, distribution operators, resource optimization teams, and load balancing personnel and/or organized markets. As a senior technical leader, you’ll collaborate with customers, engineers, and product directors to ensure the successful implementation of enterprise energy solutions, contributing to the ongoing evolution of our DERMS platform. Career Level - IC5 Responsibilities Solution Design & Architecture: Lead the design and development of DERMS and asset management solutions, ensuring scalability and integration to meet specific client needs while employing industry standards and best practices adhering fundamental product architecture Ensure a thorough understanding of customer requirements. Provide detailed documentation of the functional specifications associated with client-specific design and detailed Process &Data Flow diagrams, Develop high-level technical guidance and corresponding integration specifications. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with internal teams and customers to define technical requirements and translate business needs into effective solutions. Integration & Innovation: Oversee the integration of renewable energy sources, troubleshoot complex issues, and lead proof-of-concept initiatives. Identify and solve for client-specific integrations for enterprise DERMS product, including interoperability with DERs and DER aggregators Documentation & Reporting: Produce clear and comprehensive documentation. Support the creation of proposals, technical reports, and customer presentations to articulate the benefits and technical aspects of our DERMS solution. Leadership: Mentor development teams, foster collaboration, and drive continuous improvement in technical practices based on emerging trends in energy industry, particularly in DERMS, smart grids, and renewable energy integration Qualifications: Experience: 10 years in solution architecture, including 5 years with DERMS, ADMS, or energy management systems. 5 years of experience in a Solution Architect or Systems Architect role, with a focus on energy management, smart grid technologies, or utility software. 3 years of experience in designing and/or implementing Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS). Expertise in energy management systems (EMS), advanced distribution management systems (ADMS), SCADA, or similar platforms. Strong experience with integration of energy technologies such as solar PV, wind, storage systems, electric vehicles, and demand response. Skills: Expertise in energy technologies, smart grid integration, and system interoperability. Proficiency in system integration (APIs, RESTful, SOAP) and familiarity with industry standards (IEEE 2030.5, IEC 61850). Strong understanding of DER technologies and programs and their role in modern grid management. Familiarity with industry standards and protocols such as IEEE 2030.5, OpenADR 2.0B, IEC 61850, DNP3, MODBUS. Knowledge of cybersecurity practices in the energy domain, particularly in relation to grid security and DERMS. Proficiency in system integration and API design (RESTful services, SOAP, JSON, XML. Experience with BRMN standards.
