Senior Project Developer/ Engineer (INFRASTRUCTURE SOLUTIONS) This position is located in Remote in USA Regular travel to project locations in multiple states will be customary, mainly focused on the Northeastern and Midwestern US region. Our client is looking for a strong Senior Project Developer/ Engineer to join their Infrastructure Solutions Group to join their engineering team energy services—conserving resources and optimizing building operations. OVERVIEW: This role will be responsible for evaluating wastewater, water, and/or waste conversion systems and developing revenue-generating, energy-efficient process and capital improvement projects with technical and financial solutions that meet customer objectives. In this position, you will conduct site investigations, evaluate processes, create and recommend scopes of work, produce capital and operational cost estimates, and work jointly with and manage the activities of design subcontractors in support of design-build energy performance contract projects through each stage of development including qualifying opportunities, assisting with creation of proposals, performing preliminary development/technical audits, orchestrating design-build delivery, and overseeing commissioning, operations support, and measurement and verification activities. This role requires great relationship-building skills with solid engineering expertise capable of maturing possibilities into long-term investments. RESPONSIBILITIES: Work closely with the business development team in project qualification and early development of opportunities Participate in building responses to Request for Proposals Support proposal development with detailed technical project descriptions, integrating existing conditions represented by photos and drawings, and provide supporting documentation of contractor pricing and scope, and cost & savings derivations supported by engineering calculations Establish and maintain solid relationships of trust with clients and design team partners Conduct site audits to collect process information and utility data and to identify mechanical and operating inefficiencies within water and wastewater treatment facilities Learn and utilize internal tools of the company to perform utility analysis, normalization, and reverse utility analysis Analyze utility bills and financials to define technical solutions that are creative and economically sound Perform calculations to determine treatment capacity and appropriate sizing of equipment Lead the preliminary design development effort (PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, sketches, etc.) and orchestrate design review/optimization with design partners Perform equipment evaluation and process equipment sizing activities Engage vendors/manufacturers to understand viable options and establish the selection/recommendation of best solutions to team and clients Manage the work of engineering design partners during the development of construction documents. Ensure code compliance on all proposed solutions Review and approve shop drawings for all equipment being selected Model processes for establishment of existing conditions and understanding of optimization potential including but not limited to: Water treatment and distribution systems Wastewater collection and liquid and solids stream treatment systems Organic waste management, receiving and processing, treatment Renewable fuel (biogas from anaerobic digestion, conversion to renewable natural gas (RNG) or energy generation (fossil fuel replacement for direct heating; cogeneration) Provide engineering support to the construction effort: Contribute to the development of the construction documents, sequence evaluation & scheduling, and creation of budgets Provide engineering support to construction team with review of submittals Work with project manager to ensure equipment delivery aligns with construction schedule Coordinate the efforts of assigned team members & subcontractors to successful completion of projects Manage RFIs from contractors during project development and delivery Create commissioning documents and facilitate commissioning of equipment/systems Develop operations and maintenance manuals for equipment being provided Define and execute work efforts to meet client schedule. Utilize Microsoft Project to monitor and control project development to defined calendar dates Control expenditures within the limitations of the project budget and drive the completion of development activities within project deadlines. Work with facility operations staff to ensure client expectations are met Act as steward of the Company culture REQUIREMENTS: BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture or Facilities Management, or equivalent work experience preferred. PE License preferred. Minimum 6 years experience in the design of wastewater, water and/or waste conversion systems and component parts, including control interface Understanding of design and construction processes from development/preliminary design through construction and commissioning Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and graphs Understanding of the application of energy screening models to determine the technical and economic viability of energy efficiency and capital improvement projects Understanding of energy units and energy savings calculations Direct experience with commissioning and retro-commissioning and working knowledge of measurement and verification (M&V) Familiarity in using CMiC construction software Experience working with a water/ wastewater construction firm Membership in Water Environment Federation / American Water Works Association Board Certified Environmental Engineer High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Bluebeam/Adobe Acrobat software Ability to effectively manage efforts of assigned team members Self-starter with ability to manage time effectively with minimal supervision Team-oriented work skills: strong ability to build rapport with others Excellent verbal, written, analytical, and computer skills If you are a dynamic, successful, driven professional, this is a company that will further your experience and career growth.
