We are looking for Quality Technicians to help us conduct real-time sample testing, serve as the subject-matter expert, and communicate results and qualitative feedback to internal production and leadership groups. As a Trex Quality Technician, you will ensure representative samples from each production line are collected, labeled, and tested on a routine and timely manner. This role is a key member of our Operations team. Responsibilities: Put safety first - always. Work as a team to drive our "people first" culture. Conduct production sampling for full product line. Pull representative samples of current production, label, and store to be used for real-time and future quantitative testing, as defined by the guidelines set forth in the documented control processes. Utilize lab equipment to conduct testing against specifications for standards such as color, dimensions and strength. Complete routine visual checks for verification to ensure all products meet or exceed visual specifications. Serve as subject matter quality control area expert to provide guidance for any subjective visual or dimensional quality issues that arise during production within an area. Train new personnel on appropriate specifications as issues arise. Work in conjunction with peers to correctly identify, isolate, communicate and document any issues and/or out-of-specification product. Inventory and audit all production from prior shift, material movement tracking and detailed status documentation. Ensure test samples are representative of material awaiting testing and final disposition. Be responsible for carrying out all necessary raw material testing and retesting. Utilizing the most current production schedule, work with production staff to anticipate and help facilitate production schedule changes as needed. Provide feedback to colleagues on the visual and dimensional quality of the material while in transition. Troubleshoot any quality control-related equipment issues in real-time. Fill in as needed for other Quality Department roles to ensure quality control responsibilities are adequately covered. Develop ideas and implement solutions for continuous improvement with the Quality Department to drive lean and standardized principles. Ensure lab or work area is clean, neat, and set in order. EXPERIENCE A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
