The ideal candidate will have a strong background in benefits administration, a deep understanding of employee benefits programs, and excellent analytical skills. The Benefits Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective implementation, communication, and administration of our employee benefits programs in the US and Canada. The Benefits department of Extrusion North America oversees benefits for approximately 5,700 US employees and 570 Canadian employees. Programs for which we are responsible include: Health and Welfare benefits, voluntary benefits, 401(k), Leave and Disability, COBRA, Retiree medical and Canadian Defined contributions and Health & Welfare Plans. The Benefits Analyst will play a critical role in enhancing the overall employee experience through efficient and accurate benefits management. Required Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in human resources, business administration or related field At least 5 years of corporate benefit administration experience required. Demonstrated knowledge of laws and regulations impacting employee benefits, including but not limited to COBRA, FMLA, ERISA, HIPAA, DOL. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and v-lookups. Advanced Microsoft Word or PowerPoint skills Working knowledge of payroll and HRIS systems (UKG and SuccessFactors, preferred) Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Prior experience working with multi-location across the US and Canada, preferred. Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills. Great attention to detail to ensure highest level of quality. Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality with sensitive employee information. General understanding of payroll processes and benefit deduction set up. Flexible, ability to execute well in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving department/organization. Proactive, organized, detailed-oriented, self-starter and quality driven. Job Responsibilities: Oversee and administer Health & Welfare and Retirement benefits including medical, dental, vision, short- and long- term disability, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings account, FMLA, 401(k), and any other employee benefits and perks. First point of contact for benefits-related questions or concerns from employees and collaborate with other HR team members and vendor partners, providing timely and accurate information. Main point of contact with the disability/FMLA vendor on any disability claims/ FMLA leaves. Work with payroll to ensure correct disability payment is provided. Update, maintain and follow standard operation procedures. Recommend process improvements and create and automate processes where needed. Research daily and weekly eligibility file feed discrepancies from vendors. Lead open enrollment process including system updates, employee communication and conduct open enrollment meetings. Provides technical research, plan interpretation and recommend and lead recurring educational support to Regional and plant-level HR representatives. Assist in all aspects of the HRIS employee experience. Lead process for testing enrollment configuration, reporting and qualified life events to ensure programs are configured accurately. Collaborate with external partners and HR team to develop Open Enrollment communications material, employee education materials and conduct training sessions on benefits. Develop and maintain the knowledge and skills necessary to perform position responsibilities. Stay abreast of current trends and regulatory issues surrounding benefit plan design and administration. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations related to benefits administration. Assist in the preparation and filing of annual plan audits, Form 5500 for health and welfare and retirement plans. Lead on ensuring accuracy and timely submission benefit compliance requirements including ACA reporting, DOL filings and required employee notices. HR System: Overall accountability for data integrity to include quality, accuracy, and usability of employee data and related interfaces; serve as the lead subject matter expert for everything related to our HRIS. Perform regular audits of data entered HR systems. Ensure report results are consistent, reliable and accurate and identify opportunities to strengthen, streamline or automate administrative processes.
