Renewables Regulatory Policy Leader (Director-VP level) - REMOTE Location: FULLY REMOTE (Anywhere in the USA) Salary: USD 125,000 - 150,000 About the Role: This is an opportunity to join an industry-leading renewable energy venture and IPP with strong private equity backing that is focused on the development/execution of dynamic utility-scale energy storage projects. They are at the forefront of the industry, have accumulated over 9GW of projects in a relatively short period of time, and are currently in an accelerated expansion phase. Key Responsibilities: Develops & implements tactical corporate strategies to manage project regulatory efforts including influencing policy development across the Southwest Region with a key focus on ERCOT. Drives the identification of opportunities/threats based on the company's project development objectives through the support of RFPs and drafting/negotiating of market design proposals. Acts as a Regulatory Subject Matter Expert (SME) to the Project development, EPC, transmission market analytics teams for ERCOT / PUCT filings and other state filling protocols in the Southwest Regions. Leads regulatory efforts to move projects aggressively through the ISO / RTO interconnection processes. Manages internal and external stakeholder relationships, working with industry associations, legislators, and regulators on regulatory policy as well as market design initiatives. Works hands-on with origination and development teams on power marketing decisions. Qualifications: Utility-scale renewable energy regulatory affairs and market policy experience working with IPPs / Developers / Owners. Corporate leadership and stakeholder management experience dealing with regulatory bodies across the Southwest Region like ERCOT, Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT), and TRE. MUST have PROVEN market design, public policy, and regulatory experience in the ERCOT market. Successful track record navigating complex regulatory initiatives for utility scale renewable energy. Very well versed in regulatory commercial negotiation and risk mitigation tactics. Direct experience with the renewable energy legislation process as it relates to project development. Ability to participate (or quickly learn to participate) in advanced level discussions in the utility-scale renewables (solar, wind, storage), transmission, and battery storage space.
